Spending a night in a museum? Roam through the museum with a torch and unroll your sleeping bag next to the sabre-toothed tiger or under the whale skeleton: this special tickle is offered exclusively to children accompanied by adults.

The most prestigeous competition for nature photography in the world celebrates its 60th edition in 2024. In the impressive anniversary exhibition Wildlife Photographer of the Year, the Natural History Museum Basel is showing the world’s best nature photographs exclusively in Switzerland. A jury selected the 100 most outstanding images from over 59,000 submitted photographs. The Natural History Museum, London is responsible for organising the competition.
What makes a good photograph? What criteria do I use to judge a picture? Once a month, illustrious guests guide you through the exhibition Wildlife Photographer of the Year. They get to the bottom of the fascination for nature photography and talk about what characterises a good picture.
