SNAPSHOT PHOTO CONTEST - Award for the best nature pictures

Together with the Basel energy supply company IWB and the Fotohaus Basel, the Natural History Museum is holding the SNAPSHOT photo competition for the seventh time. The Public and Biodiversity Prize will be awarded by IWB.

For the Snapshot competition an independent jury selects ten images from each of the three categories and awards the podium places. Perhaps yours is going to be one of them and, with a bit of luck, you could win a fantastic prize from the Fotohaus Basel.

One photograph with a focus on biodiversity is honoured by IWB. After a pre-selection by our external expert jury, an IWB committee selects the winning image. All images submitted for the photo competition will enter the race for the Public Prize. Here, the audience decides what they like: the photo with the most clicks wins through online voting.

Only amateur photographers are eligible to enter the competition. They are allowed to submit one image in each of the categories «Plants | Landscapes | Natural phenomena», «Animal portraits | Animals in their habitat | Animal behaviour» and «Children see nature» (children aged 5 to 12).

The Snapshot photo competition takes place as part of the Wildlife Photographer of the Year special exhibition.
